There are two scholarship categories explained below:
Life Members and BIPOC/LGBTQIA+
Life Members
Everyone should get the opportunity to find their joy in dance!
Kids age 2 to 18 who are a part of the Life Program at their local Recreation Centre can receive 60% off their dance class for the season. The other fees payable are: Exams (if applicable), Show Costumes and Show Tickets. Registration & uniform bodysuit and tights fees are covered in full by WAPA. Dancers are expected to make a full season commitment to classes.

BIPOC & LGBTQIA+
Kids who are members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities frequently experience barriers to accessing dance training and other activities. WAPA wants to help make dance accessible to everybody so we're offering scholarships to those who identify as members of these groups.
We wish we could accommodate everyone who applies, and we are working on fundraising to do that, but until then - each season 12 dancers age 6-18 will be chosen to receive scholarships of either $500 or $1000 towards their dance season. There are no dance prerequisites! Just let us know by filling out the form below and provide a creative project between May-June 2021. Scholarship notifications will be sent out in July for those joining the September 2021 season.
Dancers are expected to make a full season commitment.
